Take my heart, I give you permission
Five years ago
today
I made a decision
To publicly say
Be Thou my vision.
You are the
potter, I the clay
My will, Lord
please transition
Help me lovingly,
willingly obey
Always following
Your mission.
You’ve taught me
to give thanks each day
And change my unbecoming
disposition
To live fully and
love you alway
To continue in this
path is my ambition.
Your sacrifice I
can never repay
My sins are many;
I give them to You my Physician
Please change me and
mold me until the wonderful day
When you will come
with angels in addition.
The years go by,
though it seems like yesterday
And now once again
in submission
I renew my vow to
you today
Take my heart, I
give you permission.
I choose You today
To be my provision
On the alter I'll
lay
All that is
division.

Ashley!!! you never told me you were a poet! :)
ReplyDeleteTami, this is the first poem I tried to write since I was in school and had too. Probably eight or ten years ago. I never got a good grade back then.
